About Root Canal Treatment Fee Guide
Treatment for root canal is the most common type of endodontic treatment. It is sometimes referred to just as a root canal, or as RCT.
Root canal treatment is the only means of saving a tooth in which the nerves and blood vessels within the tooth have been damaged or have died. This can happen because serious tooth decay has led to pulpitis (infection of the pulp), or because the tooth has been damaged by trauma or injury.
The treatment for root canal involves the removal of the nerve and damaged pulp tissue. The inside of the tooth is then disinfected, the root canals filled and the tooth sealed with a crown or filling to prevent re-infection. Once the tooth has healed, you will be able to use it normally.
Root Canal Dentist and Endodontist, Dr Richard Hems, talks about root canal treatment at Colchester Dental Referral Centre.
Endodontics is an area of dentistry that focuses on the roots of the tooth and their surrounding tissues, and the tooth’s central part which is called the pulp.
